Dr. Erika Vowinckel

MD, CCFP

Menopause Society Certified Practitioner

Team

Dr. Vowinckel graduated from family medicine residency at the University of Toronto in 2005, winning awards for patient advocacy and academic achievement. She started out in surgery, fell in love with family medicine and is now thrilled to make exceptional care for women a foundation of her clinical work.

Dr. Vowinckel has provided comprehensive primary care in the community for over 18 years. Her early career included sexual health within public health and teaching residents at the Mount Sinai Hospital Family Medicine site at the University of Toronto.

Seeing a dire gap in health services for seniors during the Covid Pandemic, Dr. Vowinckel added retirement home care to her commitments and continues to find this work tremendously rewarding. Dr. Vowinckel also serves as part of the Seamless Care Optimizing Patient Experience (SCOPE) program which works to improve patient care in our healthcare system by building pathways that seek to prevent the need for emergency room visits.
